BHARATIYA AROGYA NIDHI (Indian Health Trust) a Charitable Registered Society was founded in 1954 by Late Smt. & Shri H. B. Shah with the prime aim and objective to promote nationwide health campaign and awareness for the Indian population at large and even adopted campaign motto of W.H.O. i.e. “A STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING”.
That same year, the Hon. Minister of Health of State of Bombay inaugurated our Health & Welfare Centre at Patan (North Gujarat) and simultaneously an Eye Camp (Netra Yagna) was arranged where hundreds of patients suffering from eye ailments were attended to and were operated upon whenever required. Also, during the same time, a Mobile Hospital Unit was commissioned to cater to around 100 villages of Mehsana District (North Gujarat). In the same year, the Health & Welfare Centers activities extended to cover Pre/ Postnatal Care, Child Welfare, Literacy Classes & Social Welfare Education, Recreation, Health & Hygiene Propaganda, etc.
Looking at the need of city & suburbs of fast-growing Bombay, BHARATIYA AROGYA NIDHI’s Medial & Welfare Centre was started to cater and serve the residents of Bombay.
